How to know if your Yonex Badminton Rackets are Authentic

Badminton Bay has been in the business for 9 years now and despite being an authorised dealer for all our products, we’re still getting questions from clients if the Yonex rackets we sell are authentic. Malaysians would ask ‘Ori ker?’, which means is it original?

International brands such as Yonex are commonly known to have many counterfeit rackets produced to confuse their customers. They may look exactly the same in cosmetics and model names and worst of all, they are carrying Yonex brand. Customers should be educated and be aware on how to differentiate a real Yonex racket from a fake one.

Before you think you have bought a genuine Yonex racket, here are some basic guideline to check.

Every Yonex racket has a hologram sticker that is hard to be removed and would not easily peel off.

You can also come to our retail store at our address at bottom of this page, we’ll get it checked for you using this special tool. Just remember to make sure the hologram sticker is still on racket.

Yonex logo on racket’s support cap is one the easiest thing to spot a fake racket. Notice on the distinct, well-defined and clean logo on an authentic racket compared to a fake. The ‘O’ in YONEX on counterfeit racquets is often wide and round, with a larger space inside the letter.

Every Yonex racket comes with a unique serial number. This serial number is not only painted/printed on the racket shaft, but it it is laser-engraved.

The color of the racket’s bottom cap must be of this green shade. It should not be in another shade or color. Again, notice the inconsistent and poorly defined logo on the fake racket’s bottom cap.

Get your original, authentic and genuine Yonex rackets from BadmintonBay.com, authorised dealer for Sunrise Sports Sdn Bhd.

  2. Hai..my yonex doura 7 have a problem string sink at racket..can i claim a new racket from sunrise

    • Hi there, thanks for dropping by. What you should do is to call up Sunrise (Phone:1800 816 803 – Malaysian number) to check if your racket is still under warranty.
As of today, all claims must be made within 6 months from the date of purchase. They will let you know what to do next 😉
      All the best!

  3. I have purchased the Yonex Carbonex 7000 EX online and i am noticing that it’s colour is fading very fast and the yonex hologram is spuare in shape…

  4. Hi catherine..the hologram sticker of my voltric series racquet easily came off but when i checked my unique code on sunrisetnt.com after scratching they said my code was genuine and my distribution code is 140274ID made in taiwan.do i need to get it checked by a pro??

    • Hi Rajiv,

If the unique code is found to be valid, the racket would likely be genuine. Fake rackets would probably do not even have any silver stickers with unique code.

Can I know where did you get the racket and which model is that? How long have you used it?

  10. I bought Yonex Voltric 5 racket. JAPAN is not written at the green base of the racket. Is it fake?

    • Hi Shobbit,

First you have to check the basic criteria of authenticity as mentioned in this post.
Then, we strongly suggest that you contact your country’s distributor to check for the racket’s genuineness and to report any fake products you bought. This way, action can be taken to those sellers who are selling fake rackets illegally.

Hope this helps and good luck!

    Hi
One of my friend as got 2 ARCSABER 11 from HONG KONG with verification code 68196687146 and the second one with 4HZTSSUPZ68 .
By checking it online the one with the number verification code was genuine and the one with the alpha numerical a counterfeit .
Both the rackets were brought at the same time and same place how is it possible .
The store had a YONEX certificate .

    • Hi Naveenkumar,

It’s difficult to tell using the codes you’ve stated. The only thing you can do is to call your local Yonex Distributor Sunrise Sports.
Hope this helps and good luck!

  15. Just bought one Nanoray Glanz online. Was wandering whether it’s authentic or fake. Was going through your post and noticed some fit the authenticity while some don’t. Does it mean it’s fake?
Looks authentic: unique serial number and logo seems legit.
Looks fake: hologram sticker can be peeled off and bottom cap colour looks fade (compare to my other yonex racket).

    • Hi Wei,
Thanks for dropping by. To ensure the authenticity of the racket, you may contact your local Yonex distributor for clarification. You may also report the seller who sold the racket to you if it’s a fake.

Hope this helps and good luck!
