How to know if your Yonex Badminton Rackets are Authentic

Badminton Bay has been in the business for 9 years now and despite being an authorised dealer for all our products, we’re still getting questions from clients if the Yonex rackets we sell are authentic. Malaysians would ask ‘Ori ker?’, which means is it original?

International brands such as Yonex are commonly known to have many counterfeit rackets produced to confuse their customers. They may look exactly the same in cosmetics and model names and worst of all, they are carrying Yonex brand. Customers should be educated and be aware on how to differentiate a real Yonex racket from a fake one.

Before you think you have bought a genuine Yonex racket, here are some basic guideline to check.

Every Yonex racket has a hologram sticker that is hard to be removed and would not easily peel off.

You can also come to our retail store at our address at bottom of this page, we’ll get it checked for you using this special tool. Just remember to make sure the hologram sticker is still on racket.

Yonex logo on racket’s support cap is one the easiest thing to spot a fake racket. Notice on the distinct, well-defined and clean logo on an authentic racket compared to a fake. The ‘O’ in YONEX on counterfeit racquets is often wide and round, with a larger space inside the letter.

Every Yonex racket comes with a unique serial number. This serial number is not only painted/printed on the racket shaft, but it it is laser-engraved.

The color of the racket’s bottom cap must be of this green shade. It should not be in another shade or color. Again, notice the inconsistent and poorly defined logo on the fake racket’s bottom cap.

Get your original, authentic and genuine Yonex rackets from BadmintonBay.com, authorised dealer for Sunrise Sports Sdn Bhd.

  6. Hi
My Yonex Astrox racket has a Sunrise sticker and the code was verified as authentic. But underneath the factory grip there was no barcode whatsoever. Checked if it was just torn off when I removed the grip, but no. Is the missing barcode proof that I have purchased a fake racket? Thanks

    • Hi Jonas,
Thanks for writing in. Is there any Yonex sticker as shown in the article? The sticker should be visibly there and must look new and not worn out in any way. Go to an authorised Sunrise dealer to check on the racket.

    • Hi Hafy,
Every original Yonex badminton racket comes with a very sticky and durable hologram sticker. If it doesn’t, there is high possibility that the racket is not genuine. Nevertheless, we strongly suggest that you contact your local distributor to check on the source where you bought the racket as well as the genuinity of your Yonex racket.

  11. Hi, the country code on my racquet is EE. Is it a fake?

    • Hi Darren,
Depending on the source of where you bought the racket, the code should be of that country’s distribution code.
However, we strongly suggest that you contact your local distributor to check on the source where you bought the racket as well as the genuinity of your Yonex racket.

  15. Hi my voltric 8 etune has its hologram a little peeled off but all the other criteria are matching that its original i also logged on to sunrisetnt.com there also said it was genuine but i was a little confused when i tried to peel of the the hologram its sides peeled of but it was very hard to try the middle part

    • Hi Aryan,
Thanks for writing in. If you are sure you’ve got the real deal and that you bought from an authorized source, why still peel the sticker?
The sticker is usually hard to peel, but with harder effort it can still be removed because it is a sticker after all.
Stickers on fake rackets are usually already peeling before you even get hold of it.

Hope this clarifies and have a nice day!

They claim to be an Authorized Yonex Dealer (in the description). Can I trust this to be a genuine racket?

  36. Just bought one Nanoray Glanz online. Was wandering whether it’s authentic or fake. Was going through your post and noticed some fit the authenticity while some don’t. Does it mean it’s fake?
Looks authentic: unique serial number and logo seems legit.
Looks fake: hologram sticker can be peeled off and bottom cap colour looks fade (compare to my other yonex racket).

    • Hi Wei,
Thanks for dropping by. To ensure the authenticity of the racket, you may contact your local Yonex distributor for clarification. You may also report the seller who sold the racket to you if it’s a fake.

Hope this helps and good luck!

If the unique code is found to be valid, the racket would likely be genuine. Fake rackets would probably do not even have any silver stickers with unique code.
